Fighting Fraud and Cybercrime in 2021
We live in a digital age where financial fraud is increasingly prevalent. Fraudsters and cybercriminals are becoming more advanced. The technology to carry out these scams is also becoming more readily available and inexpensive.

You need to know about these criminals to protect yourself. The scams are incredibly clever. Please don’t think “It wouldn’t happen to me” or “I’d spot it”. Criminals spend months preparing for their digital heists, just as they would were they to break into your home. When they strike, they’ve probably targeted you and have all the advantages of preparation. Your best weapon to defend yourself is knowledge.

As such we have partnered with the Fraud and Cyber Protect team, a specialist unit set up by the Police, to host a breakfast briefing for our clients.

On 14th January, Catriona and her colleague Paul will share their invaluable knowledge about how to protect yourself, your family and businesses from fraud and cybercrime including:

· How to spot the difference between legitimate and fraudulent emails, calls and texts
· The steps we can take as individuals to safeguard our personal and financial data online
· The measures to mitigate the impact of financial loss and to contain private and confidential information if breached
